Elder or Not to Elder

Hey everyone.  A few of us have been discussing the idea of granting elder status to only the core group of mature players in the clan.  If you remember, we had a system like this for a while, and granted elder status to a player 'alexgist1', who then kicked about 20 non-elders.  Amazingly enough, we filled the clan back up within a day.  Also amazingly enough, our clan is just as awesome as before, for one reason: the cool people were already elder and were unable to be kicked!

So, Paul, a few of us propose removing elder status from a few players and kicking a few players.   The worst that can happen is that we lose some of our non-core players again with a rogue elder.  Those that deserve elder status follow these guidelines (and maybe more, these are the first that I thought of):

1)  Always donate without being asked.  Individual players may appreciate other donations, but if you are unsure, archers are the default.
2)  Don't ask to be elder on a daily basis.
3)  Do not kick people without agreement from other (two maybe?) elders
4)  Accept only English speakers to the clan - trophy count does not matter at this point, we just want active players

Here is my thoughts (feel free to disagree) as to who might should continue to be elder:

Elder
Packbear
Boo's Heros
Hero
Jeremy
Mr. Chavez
Deeeenise
El Colombiano!
Conor
George
Binky
Jai Jai
George
Craigster75
Snooze
Duncan (he's low ranked, but he acts like an elder)
Marsden (Paul's call)

Maybe Elder
BooneMehrman
Robbie82
PauliyOo
Michael
SpOon2410
Gustav Hyden
Chief
Joey
Gil (is Gil active anymore?)
Fathead No.1
AgentHungLo
JakeyG18
Cody

Non Elder
Koboi2001
Nizayu
Tidens Herre
JP
Wazza Bazza
Hans908
Jesper
Trevor
Karl
Ninecj
Hunta
Thammwx
Allen
Little Tanman
Jud-02
Sealtenbaumer

For people that should be kicked, some of them donate, some of them don't, but those on the list that do donate, I have to ask them to, and I'm tired of asking.  I've seen this sight below more than I care to remember:

Kick
Paul Hyland (lol, just kidding Paul!)
Robin
Drawnblood

And, just because its my blog, here is my monster loss (I'd take one of these any day):

Saving Elixir from Attacks

Hey everyone.  We all know how precious elixir is, especially when you are running low.  Since Clash of Clans is now allowing troops that are in the army camp to be saved when the army camp is destroyed, this brings a whole new strategy into play.
Here’s the strategy:

1) Before you log off for a while, fill up your army camps with your normal attack groups.  For me, I have a capacity of 180 troops, so its 12 giants, 20 barbarians, 10 wall breakers and 90 archers, but that’s beside the point.

2) Once your army camps are full, remove all troops training in your barracks, and train only wall breakers.  Since your camps are full, it won’t actually build any wall breakers, but it will remove 2,000 in elixir for each wall breaker that you start training.

Currently, I have two level 5 barracks (capacity 40), one level 6 (capacity 45), and one level 7 (capacity 50) - a total of 175 in capacity.  Considering each wall breaker is 2,000 elixir, this means if I fill all of my barracks up with wall breakers, I can protect 350,000 in elixir every time.

Upgrade your barracks even further if you’d like to save more!  Best of luck!  Hope this helps some.

Free Elixir (kinda)

This isn’t as great of a trick, but you can use it to make some extra elixir if you are available at the time.

When a research is about to finish in your laboratory, fill up your barracks to train whatever troop you are researching the upgrade on.

For instance, I was upgrading from level 3 giants to level 4 giants.  Level 3 giants cost 1,500 elixir and level 4 giants cost 2,000 elixir.  I had about 180 capacity in all of my barracks.  So I “bought” 36 giants at the cost of 54,000 elixir (36 x 1,500).  After the research was completed, the giants I had “bought” became level 4 and worth 2,000 elixir each.  I cancelled the training and received 72,000 elixir (36 x 2,000).  It’s 18,000 free elixir.  Like I said, not great, but it’s better than nothing.
